Honda True Certified and True Certified + is Honda’s certified pre-owned (CPO) vehicle program. Every used Honda in this program passes a stringent examination and comes with features like an extended factory warranty and a long powertrain warranty. 

What is Honda CPO?  

Honda CPO is a program offered by our local Los Angeles area used Honda dealer. In it, pre-owned Hondas go through an exhaustive mechanical inspection to make sure they’re as reliable as you expect a new Honda to be.  

Eligible pre-owned cars will then enjoy an extended limited factory warranty. In most circumstances, this warranty covers all of the non-powertrain parts of your car. It’s sometimes referred to as a “bumper-to-bumper” warranty.  

You’ll also get an extended powertrain warranty of up to seven years or 100,000 miles powertrain warranty. This warranty covers the engine and transmission components.  

How Does a Used Honda Become a Honda True Certified Vehicle?  

The path to becoming a CPO vehicle begins when a pre-owned car or SUV is traded in at a used Honda dealer. From there, it undergoes an extensive, 182-point mechanical check.  

This inspection covers things including:  

• Engine, exhaust, and drivetrain components 

• Paint, body, and corrosion  

• Steering and suspension 

• Brake components 

• Tires and wheels 

Any part found defective, damaged, or worn is refurbished or replaced by genuine Honda parts. All the fluids are changed and service items like timing belts are checked and serviced where necessary.  

At the end of the inspection, the used vehicle is designated as a Honda True Certified vehicle and sold with the benefits listed below.  

Extended Warranty on Honda CPO Vehicles 

Vehicles from 2019 and up are eligible for Honda’s CPO program, but vehicles as much as 10 years old may still be sold under the Honda True Used program. This gives drivers a 100-day, 5,000-mile warranty for the whole car.
